Late for Something – free Sassy Series printable

Lets talk time

There are two kinds of people in the world. Those that are perpetually, (one might even suggest obsessively) on time. Then there’s the rest of us. If you’re the former, you may not understand how those pesky minutes can slip by. But, since I’ve been known to sometimes run a tad bit behind, I do know how time can get away from me. And you don’t need to tell me it’s important to be prompt. And yes, I know that keeping someone waiting is just plain rude. I understand there are times that it’s crucial to be on time, and I absolutely intend to be there when I’m needed.

Time is an illusion

However, it’s important to note that time is really just a construct. Those of us that are punctuality-challenged know that the passage of time is relative to what we’re doing. When you’re in a boring meeting, for example, time exponentially expands. Every minute feels like an hour, and time is stretched to what feels like excruciating, endless torture. On the other hand, when you’re ‘in the flow’, time flies by without notice. You’re not counting every tick tock of the clock, but rather, exist in a quantum field of timeless experience.

Let’s not judge

Alas, those bound by the perception of time often don’t recall when those that are time-fluid actually do show up on time. So even when we are where we need to be when we need to be there, they’ll remember us as late, anyway. All of this to say, if you’re the type that lives by the clock I hope you’ll give me a little grace, because I’m probably late for something!
