Summer Days!

Oh yes, It’s here. Summer days are here again!

This first day of summer was windy in my part of the western U.S., but I didn’t let that stop me from getting out into the crisp, golden morning. I spent the morning weeding and tending to my flowers. Because I’ve been so busy with other projects, my garden has been a bit neglected this year, but I’ve resolved to spend an hour in the morning, three or four days a week, to get it into shape. I’m not sure how good I’ll do, but my beautiful perennials deserve a little love. This year they’ve struggled because field grass decide to move in. My day lilies don’t seem to care, but it looks as if my Sedum is a little crowded. I fixed that this morning and hopefully they’ll gain some ground (is that a pun?)

Let’s Enjoy the Summer

I really want to enjoy this summer. For the last decade, I’ve spent the majority of my summer days inside a building, slaving away to make a buck. Don’t get me wrong, I still have to make a buck, but I’m hoping for a better work life balance this year. Since I’ve transitioned to freelancing, I have the opportunity to start my work day just a bit later and work a bit later if I need to, or to break the work day up. Now that my office is at home, I don’t have to make that commute, and that’s helpful. It’s an hour a day I can spend on activities that feed the soul.

This year I get to create something to celebrate summer, so I’ve made this fun printable. Let’s celebrate the season of swimming and bike rides, sandals and swimsuits, watermelon and fireworks. And those long, long days and balmy nights. Let’s enjoy the season. 🙂
