My Top 10 Favorites for Springtime – includes a free printable!

Hallelujah and Happy Days! Spring is here! Now you may not be experiencing springtime in your region. Maybe you’ve had way too many nor’easters, or you’re just sogged in with rain. Or maybe the season has already arrived for you, with blossoming trees and spring bulbs already peeking through the soil. But no matter the weather in your region, today is the official beginning of the most wonderful season – SPRING!

I love Spring, and in keeping with my other posts on the new season, I’m listing my top 10 favorite things about spring. Honestly, it’s been hard to reign it in and only pick ten. Springtime is my favorite, and I could go on and on, listing each lovely little flower as a favorite. Since that’s not realistic, here is my list of Top 10 favorite things about Spring – for this year anyway 😉

Top 10 Spring Favorites

  1. Spring sunshine. If you’re like me, sunny days feel just plain wonderful. And while the sun may shine in winter, the air’s not really so warm, so the warmth of the sun in the Springtime is especially welcome.
  2. Longer days. Again with the sunshine, but with daylight savings time we get another hour of daylight at a time we’re more able to enjoy it. Extra daylight is always wonderful and welcome.
  3. Green, green and more green! Isn’t it a welcome sight to see that first flush of green? Weeping Willow trees are the first to green up in the spring, and when I saw one yesterday with that flush of pale green, my heart actually started to race. Hallelujah for the return of the green.
  4. The scents of spring! When you can smell the scent of green, growing plants and even the scent of the soil smells wonderful, you know spring is here.
  5. Spring Planting. I love the promise that comes with a new gardening season, and planting seeds and new seedlings is such an act of faith. I love getting out and playing in the spring earth. What a mood lifter!
  6. Nesting birds. We have lots of birds that visit us only for the spring and summer seasons. The Sterling Jay, the Hummingbirds, I’m sure there are many others. It’s wonderful to see them return to the garden. Plus, they eat the bugs!
  7. Spring Holidays. Easter, spring break, Memorial Day, as well as others I’m not remembering at the moment. They’re all welcome breaks and a chance to head out after the long winter hibernation. What’s not to love?
  8. Riding my bicycle. I’m not the intrepid type that can ride though slush and snow, so I’m excited to get my bike out and ride!
  9. FLOWERS! Oh yes, I could list them all as a favorite. Peonies, Daisies, Daffodils, Tulips and all the other spring bulbs. I could go on and on, but you get the idea. I just love Spring flowers!
  10. A new free printable! Yay! I love any reason to share a new freebie. 🙂
